WEMBO 24 hour World Championships - Fort William Scotland

WEMBO 24 hour World Championships - Fort William Scotland

Epic rides for MT ZOOM supported riders in October up in Scotland for the WEMBO World 24 hour champs. The battle at the sharp end of things was fierce on the steep technical course, & particularly tough through the cold wet night.  The course was a hybrid of the World Cup XC and the 10 under the Ben route, with Ben Nevis brooding in the distance.

Jason Miles - um, focused

Shouts out to Jason English and Jason Miles, coming 3rd & 7th in the Elite category + Andrew Howett, 6th singlespeed - all gave their bodies and kit a thorough beasting.

Well done! Apparently there was 20 hours of rain, standard Fort William in late October then, brrr.

Andrew Howlett - remarkably chipper

At the front of the Elite fields current champion Cory Wallace was strong throughout, and led for most of the race. Jason English got very close on the night laps but ultimately Cory proved too strong and best able to cope with the temperature drop.  Next year the World Champs head to Brazil - a bit different then. http://www.wembo.com.au/

Jason English - fuelling up early on

Ant White, who came 2nd to Jason English last time the event was held in Fort William, decided to duck it and watch the laps roll by online over a few beers.  Maybe the right decision.
